5/9 – Last sea day (last day!) and the Inside Passage

Just another sea day for us – sadly our last, and our last day aboard.  We are up and out early (as usual) but this morning get a big surprise with the Towel Animal Menagerie on the pool deck.  We thought HAL had stopped doing this, as we haven’t seen it on our last few cruises, but apparently not!  And oh boy, did the Housekeeping Staff go overboard!  Crazy cool towel animals, everywhere!

After the gym, we spend our morning wandering around trying to spend our onboard credit, ending up with a bunch of travel crossbody bags and 2 more of the fabulous HAL insulated coffee mugs.  Then it is onto lunch, where the special today is “Cake Me Away” – an incredible selection and assortment of everything cakes.  Gorgeous – but oh dear, the line!  It stretches the entire length of the buffet.  It’s just cake people!

Our afternoon is spent alternating between packing and the balcony and upper decks as we sail through the inside passage.  Gorgeous as usual and a perfect day – fluffy clouds in a sometimes sunny sky and nice and cool and crisp.

We take a break at 3 for the Crew Talent show – which is fabulous.  And our sweet, shy little Abby from the Lido Homestead line is even there singing like a dream.  Would have never ever dreamed she would be able to get up in front of a theater and perform. She is full of surprises.

Then it is back to the balcony and then the Promenade deck for more beautiful inside passages scenes.  We combine our afternoon exercise, walking the Promenade deck while gazing out at the mountains and the water that surround us.  What could be more perfect?

Well, maybe wine on the balcony while looking out at the stunning vistas!  Which is what we do (well, wine and beer) after our Promenade walk.

Then it is back to packing – and I finally succumb to opening my “blind box” can of socks!  (Essentially because the can took up too much space in the luggage.) And running back and forth from the room to the balcony to watch the scenery.

After dinner, we retreat to the room to finalize the bags (yes, we fit all those beers into the cases) and spend our last night aboard the wonderful Westerdam happily watching Netflix and getting ready for our travel day in the morning.
