A very nice relaxing sea day for us – a weirdly beautiful sunrise amongst the very dark clouds and after our gym time, nice capuccino, latte and the Nesers’ favorite: Norwegian Skolbrod (or in Azamara English: School Bread – to be fair, that is the translation, but still!).

The rest of the day progressed easily: Attended one seminar on whaling. Interesting. A lot of stuff we already knew, but some new factoids. Then went to brunch, always a favorite. And then of course, packed!  We have a full day planned for our “surprise” Lisbon day tomorrow and wanted to get a jump on the packing, so got as much of that done as possible. 

Around 5:30, we begin the beautiful part of our sail down the river into Lisbon. The views to Belem and the monument with the Monastery behind it are fabulous.

As is sailing past the Pilar 7 museum (with that scary overlook) and underneath the 25 de Abril bridge at sunset.

And as we docked, there are great shots of the city beginning to light up and on the other banks of river, the Santuario de Christ lit up for the night.

Later that evening, we have our final dinner with Rafael and Monique. Where, once again, we had the best time. We all could have stayed and talked all night. And we are so happy that they will still be on in January when we come back for our Indian Ocean to Cape Town odyssey.

After that, it’s a night cap and the cabin, watching the lights of the city, enjoying hanging out in the cool night air.
