1/26 – Sea Day #3

Normal morning routine – at least breaking into the gym morning routine. The adorable towel art is still on display on the broken treadmill – we thought this was so cute of Vipin to do yesterday!  Apparently there isn’t a sign – something about it has to be in the Azamara Brand? Who knows, but they need parts to fix the machine and it will be a while.  This was his solution.  Adorable.

Then a change to our routine.  Horrors! This morning we have the loyalty breakfast in Prime C – which we attend, sitting next to Bob and Pam – tables #2 and #4 together at last!  A nice time chatting and exchanging ideas about all things cruising and food and trivia.

A quick Mosaics stop and then onto the theater where Dr. Svetlana is giving her celestial star presentation with Zulu Starlore.  Unfortunately, it is the same presentation we saw last cruise, just with a few Zulu folklore mentions thrown in.  Ah well, at least we showed support by being there – although it was a pretty full house.  Skipping Dr. Aleksandrs 11am talk – Tectonic plates shifting – which we’ve also already seen, we hang out on the balcony until it is time for lunch after which we return to the balcony.

We have down time until 3pm when comedian Mark Sampson is talking about his and his family’s adventure driving clockwise around the African continent. He is a hoot, that guy.  And what a fascinating story.  He and his family drove clockwise around Africa to draw attention to the effects of climate change.  They drove a converted Mercedes military vehicle that ran on waste vegetable oil!  Crazy.  They had planned to take 3 years, but ended up taking 7 years to drive over 47,000km through 38 countries.  They broke down 27 times and had to rebuild the engine completely 3 times.  It was a fascinating and fun story – and great hour listening to him.

Normal activities after that – gym, dinner in Discoveries, then Mark’s 2nd show, which was just as fun an entertaining as his first. Then back to the balcony for a lovely view of the moon through the clouds.

Sea day complete!
