Saturday – In a word? Um, sadly, boring. There is absolutely nothing going on today. Nothing. There are no guest lecturers, no destination lecturers, nada. And nothing planned for the entire voyage. It is so annoying that Ed actually submits a “how are we doing so far” survey response about the lack of educational activities, particularly noting that we are on the crossing and hoping that there will at least be something going on during that cruise. I mean, you can go to as many trivias as you want – 6 during the day – or do crafts – or jewelry sales – or spa sales – but content? Unh huh. Very disappointing.
But to their credit, Tanya the CD responds to our questions/complaints almost immediately, leaving us a very long voicemail explaining that because of the port intensive nature of this cruise, Corporate didn’t send anyone for lectures, but that there will be a lecturer on the crossing. Only one though. Marcelo will do a talk about back of the house and Tony Markey, ex-CD, now behind the scenes something with Azamara, who is aboard will be doing a talk. Let’s hope for the best.
So, I had the opportunity to blog. Ed had the opportunity to walk. We both had the opportunity to go to the gym. And we also went to see the band play at 6pm. Then onto dinner where it is now a war for our tables. Some other lady “saw our table and wanted it,” as Aivee put it, and guess what? No table 2 or 4 for us. We did have table 1, which is on the alleyway. Private, but noisier than we’d like. This is not looking good for the rest of our 3 weeks on this ship. Sigh.

After dinner, we went upstairs to the Sunset Bar to visit with Mark, then back to the cabin and our teeny, tiny balcony for night caps and to bed.
Sunday – A little bit better today – in terms of rockiness and activities. At least the Captain and Hotel Director are having their Q&A at 10am, and then there is the traditional brunch until 1pm. But after that? Dullsville. We did actually go to the Photo Scavenger hunt which is different than Pursuit. A list of weird clues and 20 minutes to complete it using your phone camera. Like Zzzzzz – ok, sleeping people on the deck. Quick, I need a jolt – the Defib machine. This guy looks like he needs a fist bump – made the sullen guy at Mosaics fist bump me. And boy, does he ever need a fist bump, he never smiles! Things like that. We were the only ones doing it and got 10 points each. Well, it took up time at least!
So the big question of the day is: How does everyone know our name????? Now Marcelo, the Hotel Director, who we do not know is greeting us by name. Maybe it is because of our comments we submitted from yesterday? I don’t know, and I still don’t know whether to be flattered or scared…..

The rest of the afternoon progresses on an accelerated pace, early gym and then straight to the room to freshen up and go to the Azamara circle event in the Cabaret. Same, same as usual. We know the #1 cruisers, and the #2 cruisers are the Table #4 people. As I said, same, same. We sneak out a bit early to go to dinner, but still can’t get table #2. Geez. Still at table #1. If that table stealer is on the next leg, we are so doomed. Then we hit the living room because the band is so good – and we have the place to ourselves! – then of course back to the balcony and Netflix for the rest of the evening.
