Monday – Today is just another long sea day. Up for our normal routine of gym, then breakfast, then hanging around. There was one lecture, but as good as the lecturer’s previous ones have been, this was an exception. We left before it was all over. And may not go back tomorrow because it sounds like more of the same. Oh well. That just means it is blog time now!
It is cloudy and cooler out here at sea than on land. The seas are calm, but we aren’t in the Tasman yet, so we have our fingers crossed that it stays this smooth.
The highlight of our day is the Freddy Mercury (Queen) impersonator/cover singer who was extremely good. Then it is back to the balcony for a beautiful view of the full moon and a nightcap before we close out our first day at sea.

Tuesday – Another do nothing day today. No activities to speak of, so we watched Bohemian Rhapsody in the cabin – Ed for the first time, me the 2nd. It is such a great biopic about Queen and Freddie Mercury. And a great way to prepare for the 2nd show of the Freddie Mercury guy who will be performing again on Thursday.
Otherwise, well, there was a lot of time spent on the balcony.

And a lot of time trying to decide whether to be freaked out or love the medallion tracking things. I mean really – it opens the door from down the hall, your picture is on the screen outside your cabin, and tells you the door is locked – and as you can sort of see in the photo from the bar, our picture icons show up on the servers electronic device when we are in the vicinity. Sort of cringe inducing, maybe….

The afternoon proceeds as normal. Gym, drinks, dinner. Tonight is another cabin night as it’s the stupid hypnotist again. Ah well, just means more balcony time! Sea day #2 done.

Wednesday – Nothing happening today aboard – literally nothing! So it is another day of hanging out. Although today we do have our own activities to keep us occupied – our upcoming HAL Japan cruise just got totally rearranged. HAL changed every port day, time and some locations. It is a total scramble. And so weird, we can’t figure out why they did it – but what can you do? Rearrange and change all the tours and plans we’ve already made. Oh, and to top it off, the 2nd part of that trip on Azamara just got crazy as they canceled a bunch of shore excursions we had booked without replacing them with other options. Hmmmm. It is mostly just Hong Kong which will be easy to figure out. But, hey, gives us something to do.
Normal afternoon prevails, then onto dinner and the balcony for sunset drinks.

The show tonight is the British invasion which was pretty good. So at least the last 2 nights we have something to do that we enjoy! Day #3 complete!
Thursday – The last sea day, and last day of the cruise, is upon us. And there are actually activities! We went to the cooking demo which was fun and quite the production. Hung around after that until lunch, started packing and then tried to go to an afternoon lecture. Tried being the operative term because it never happened! After about 10 minutes of sitting in the theater, waiting, they announced they were trying to find the lecturer, but then said he never made the ship. Huh? We’ve been sailing for 4 days! It’s his 1st lecture! Nah. Somebody’s got to know something about that before 4 days in. Too funny! We figured the CD would say something at the show this evening, but nope. Not a word about the lecturer so it remains a mystery!
The Freddie Mercury guy was just as good the 2nd night as the first, and then it was back to the cabin for an early night because we have a 5:15a wake up call for a really early flight (although the airline has already notified us that the flight is delayed. How do they know that a whole day in advance? God knows. Doesn’t bode well for our travels….sigh….nothing we can do except head to the airport and see how tomorrow goes.
At least there is Bali to look forward to tomorrow! Can’t wait to finally make it there!
