Up an at’em early, we meet Rosanna and Peter at their hotel and wander through the city toward the Central Market. But first, a cappuccino and sweet treat at Crack. Yes, Crack. Very aptly named, because their sweets are addictive like Crack! We’re going to have to force ourselves not to come back here! Ever! But for today, it is wonderful to sit here and catch up more with our sweet AAC friends and share a last coffee and snack. The restaurant has a fabulous atmosphere, once an old bank building, the bathroom door is actually a vault door. How appropriate!

Coffee and food done far too soon, we wander over to the Central Market, but first finding graffiti that certainly was painted just for us! You want to talk about appropriate!

Then to the market, where we bid our friends a very heartfelt and fond farewell as they headed back to their hotel to get ready for an early afternoon flight back home. We’ve have a fabulous 2 days with them, and all of us are already looking forward to another reunion in the not so distant future. We continue on through the market, but really don’t find much that catches our eye. Everything is so expensive – and while we expected it, the prices are still a shock to our system. And, quite frankly, we don’t need a ton of food with only 3 nights left here. So, we just window, or I should say stall, shop and then make our way back to our apartment, snapping pictures of the great architecture for which this city is famous.

After a light snack lunch, we decide to strike out to the west of our apartment and walk through the extensive park system that rings the CBD. There are acres and acres of parkland and playspaces and a cemetery an all sorts of nature surrounding Adelaide. And we intend to take advantage of as much as we can! The park walk is the perfect exercise for us. It is flat, covers about 5 or 6 miles and lets us explore everything from playgrounds and BBQ areas (catch the wild grills that are available in a ton of places) to shaded paths along the river to this massive cemetery with tons and tons and tons of immigrant graves. You’d never believe how many people settled here in the early years from Italy! An awesome way to spend the afternoon and really stretch our legs after our long flights the other day.
Later in the evening, we walked along the River Torrens pathway. Another great nature walk right across the street from our apartment. The river is gorgeous and peaceful, with awesome skyline views and the wildlife abundant (apparently the flying foxes and bats too, along with typical river fowl – although we didn’t see any along the river). There are also these wild river rafts that are called Chillin’ and Grillin’ innertubes – that actually have BBQ grills on the rafts where you can cook and grill while you float down the river! Wild.
Later still, we hit Londok Daun, an Indonesian restaurant a couple of blocks away, feasting on fried spring rolls, crispy fish with coconut rice and chicken satay. Getting ready for Bali! And oh so yummy.

Then it was back to the apartment for a relaxing evening on the balcony and a lovely rest in our comfy abode.
