3/4 to 3/7 – Sea Days

Pretty standard – gym, lunch, trivia, dinner, show. Interspersed with Q&As with staff and dancers, the expo where all the departments show off their jobs and wares, a backstage tour and the Rice Table dinner – which we loved, too much food, but we thought it was a wonderful example of Indonesian food.  Others at the table weren’t so complimentary, but we were happy – what can we say?

We had our equator crossing which was absolutely wonderful – the full show with a little different Stephen (the CD) twist – we had the butcher instead of the doctor, and they had 3 prisoners who they sent to the butcher or the barber then made to walk the plank.  The dancers were mermaids (Zoe and Kayla, of course, but also sweet Cole) and they had a huge fish to kiss.  Very, very fun – and just one more example of the absolute difference between the Quest and the Oceania Insignia.  I teared up thinking how much better this cruise is than that horribly sad and surly sailing.

And that’s how our sea days have been spent!  Oh, along with staring out at the flat blue seas (incredibly smooth for the last 2 days) and just enjoying the journey. Have no idea what to expect tomorrow at our “technical” stop.  We’re thinking Haz Mat suits, the full regalia, but that is for tomorrow’s report.  In the meantime, we’re just sailing along in the Indian Ocean.
