We spend our next 2 days at sea pretty much just relaxing and resting up Ed’s torn muscle.  Balcony sitting, yes. Staring at birds soaring over the murky Amazon river, yes.

Lectures, yes.  Movies, yes.  They are showing Papilon (the new one, not the good one) to get us ready for Devil’s Island – which, while the movie itself is sort of bad (special effects were awful!), it at least refreshes our memory of the stories and legends we can expect on the island.  Of course Sandy (the historian/port lecturer) gives us a fabulous historical perspective on the place, so we feel we will be ready to go when we arrive.

And that’s about the extent of our 2 days at sea!
